We have a great many options because of the approaching "Coiled Hearts" festival, which encourages people to do things in pairs! What's more, apparently this time of year also coincides with "Valentine's," a similarly themed holiday common to a number of different worlds. So there are even a lot of businesses operated by other Moonblessed that are offering special deals!
(The traditional food for Coiled Hearts is octopus. I don't know if there is a traditional Valentine food.)
No idea, haven't heard about either holiday. It's all about pairs though? Huh... interesting. I like octopus, and finding new ways of having it cooked seems kind of fun.
I wonder why it's just this time of year. Do the octopus in the seas have a population boom or something?
I'm not sure! There is a legend behind it, apparently, but I don't know if it's particularly tied to the date or season. But there is a certain species of octopus appearing in large quantities around the beach, so it seems likely that is the reason for the timing. I intend to do further research at the library to see if there is any more to it, though. (As for Valentine's, I have no idea whatsoever. It may be just a coincidence that they are at more or less the same part of the year.)
Do you want to go to a restaurant and try a seasonal octopus specialty? Or shall we go down to the beach, and make a meal of what the seaside vendors have on offer? (I should mention that they also have setups for people to catch and prepare their own food, but I don't think there would be any partner discounts for that, and I also do not know how to catch or prepare octopus)
Huh. Most the holidays here have been weird, but at least I thought they were more about... traditions with gods or something? This is more like one of the seasonal celebrations with what you're saying about the octopus increase.
Hm, hm... the sea! I want super fresh octopus! Not sure if I want to bother with catching them, but if there right by the sea they're going to be the freshest!
The sea, then. When do you want to go? Are there any moon phases you want to take advantage of, or avoid? I have no real preference in that respect. If it's during Cordis, my appetite will be immense, but I don't know if that is an advantage or a drawback for something like this.
Oh I don't care about the moon phases, the worst that happens is I'm a freaking deer jinba again but that doesn't stop me from eating. I don't need to be Cordis to want to eat way too much, so it's up to you on this one, I don't care. I'd go right now, except I have work and ... okay so maybe I should think about my work schedule. Thursday?
